Project Description
This steep garden presented quite a challenge. It originally ended with a large flower bed followed by a sizeable unused space between the bed and the fence. Our brief was to extend the lawn as much as possible and create an attractive bed at the end of the garden.
Because of the steep nature of the project my design included a large sleeper wall to hold back the earth and form a modern flower bed, combined with attractive, chunky sleeper steps either side. After constructing the bed and integrated steps, we bought in tonnes of extra earth to make the steep lawn more level. This was then turfed and a few large plants and bark chippings provided the final finishing touch to the new bed.
